Our Home Adventures!
You don’t have to do something extreme or outdoorsy to be adventurous like we so often think. Sometimes picking up a paint brush for the first time and moving it along a canvas can be an adventure in itself. It might feel scary, uncertain, and then turn out to be an extremely thrilling experience. While I am feeling adventurous in the outdoors, I am also feeling very adventurous at home.
We recently finished building our house on a 1-acre lot in Leavenworth, WA. Both our new house and our lot are blank canvases. Literally blank. We are starting fresh. While we did move our furniture here so we have a place to sleep and sit, most of it will change over the years because it doesn’t “fit” in this house due to size or style. Our overall decoration style for this house is going to be different and better reflect our outdoor and adventurous attitude and lifestyle.
We have a lot of work to do. There are many projects we need to do as part of basic homeownership and many projects we want to do to make our house and yard comfortable, inviting and representative of our personal styles. Our plan is to step out of our comfort zone, be adventurous and try to do most of it ourselves.
I truly believe that every day is an adventure and we only have one life to live, so we must take advantage of the time we are given. Why not try something new today? What’s the worst that could happen? 😉
I have found this adventurous attitude of late to be stimulating and thrilling, and I highly recommend you join me and try it out in your own life!
Start small, it doesn’t have to be anything big.
