Daughter’s First Birthday Party!
My Daughter’s First Birthday Party!
I had so much fun planning and decorating for my daughter’s first birthday party.
Originally I wasn’t planning on doing anything too big or fancy for her birthday, but once I decided on the pink and navy color scheme and started looking on Pinterest for ideas, the creative juices started flowing and I couldn’t stop myself. I managed to keep it small and only invite family, but I spent a little more $ than planned – It was worth it!
Pink and Navy Color Scheme
Shopping for this party was a lot of fun: the cute ribbons, straws, baking cups and colorful candy. I LOVE shopping for festive party items to match a color scheme. Planning and organizing parties are always an adventure.
Take a look at how much fun I had with the pink and navy color scheme.

Family Picture!
I know – maybe a little overboard – our outfits matching the color scheme. Thinking about it now, I actually decided on the color scheme after picking out my daughter’s dress and shoes for the party. And we just happened to have outfits that matched…I swear! 😉
To keep the party simple, we had cupcakes to celebrate the birthday girl, candy for enjoying during the party (and to take home as a party favor), festive drinks to enjoy throughout the day, and for those who hung out until dinner, we ordered pizza. It was the perfect low-key and fun first birthday party.
Looking back through the pictures always fills me with so much joy. The pictures remind me of the fun I had planning the party, the excitement for how well it all came together, and the joy of celebrating my daughter’s first birthday. This truly was a very special day!
